We sadly are not allowed to attach any kind of permanent cover to our balconies without permission from the HOA and as I work full time, leaving just as the sun gets up and not getting home until 10+hrs later moving the plants has not helped. I think what I need to do is give up on the balcony (or grow cacti) and try grow something on the porch - its very small and gets pretty much full shade all day but I'm sure I could get some ferns or something that like that.Calenthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05774632510748343141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3222980678053715645.post-44840930122241834882012-03-12T16:05:12.070-07:002012-03-12T16:05:12.070-07:00Thanks for the suggestion Polly - I've tried t...Thanks for the suggestion Polly - I've tried the mini greenhouse - sadly there really isn't anywhere safe from our rather mischievous kitty. She loves plants, loves to put her paws in the dirt and to knock them off the shelves if she's miffed. I'm hoping as she gets older (she's only a little over 1yr old) she'll settle and I can get more indoor plant life going.Calenthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05774632510748343141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3222980678053715645.post-17404686101260329212012-03-12T16:02:06.077-07:002012-03-12T16:02:06.077-07:00You can try to cover parts of your balcony, or bri...You can try to cover parts of your balcony, or bring your containers in when they've gotten enough sunlight so they don't burn. There are a few options to you, but it'll require some work.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15640851063362331334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3222980678053715645.post-15359084142945952992012-03-12T15:33:10.517-07:002012-03-12T15:33:10.517-07:00Great advice Lesley.

I know I would be lost without being able to touch the soil, walk in the grass and meander through the woods now and then.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07723368404911817023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3222980678053715645.post-72204975080984482862012-03-12T14:34:12.926-07:002012-03-12T14:34:12.926-07:00Now that spring appears to have decided to stay an...Now that spring appears to have decided to stay and the days are getting longer I'm going to try and get out to a park on my way home since it won't be dark.Calenthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05774632510748343141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3222980678053715645.post-69658230914372891332012-03-12T14:31:54.886-07:002012-03-12T14:31:54.886-07:00*hugs* - can you maybe get to a park or something ...*hugs* - can you maybe get to a park or something either at lunchtime, before or after work.
